Pilot Sport 5 TYRE REVIEW

Tyres have performed brilliantly in both wet and dry conditions. I got caught in what could only be described as monsoon conditions during a summer downpour and they really inspired much needed confidence when dealing with standing water. In day to day use they are very comfortable with low noise levels. They work very well on the winding country roads near me with very responsive steering and loads of grip in the dry, they are the perfect tyre for a hot hatch and bring out the best the chassis has to offer. Definitely not the cheapest but worth every penny for me.

As expected from the Michelin Pilot Sport range, this latest iteration performs extremely well. I have previously used Pilot Sport (PS) 3 on my previous MXT Mk2.5 (PS4s were not available for the 16" wheel size) and my previous BMW E46 M3. I have little doubt whatever I buy next will get fitted with a set.

Tyres perform as you would expect from a premier brand. They provide a feeling of safety in all conditions.

Great grip in all conditions. Good noise levels. Too early to tell about wear rate.

Very well. Whether it's warm, cold or wet they seem to have the same performance, grip and stability which gives a feeling of confidence. Great under braking too.
