Great 50/50 tyre

With so much on the market and having experience with the mountain bike range it’s seemed like a no brainer. Love these tyres

Love them on my KTM 690 Enduro

I'm on my second set and have changed them in time for drier conditions. The bike is used for green laning in Kent and Sussex. The difference on road is great. I have used Motoz Rallyz, swapped when supplies were useless! They don't last but nothing does on the KTM. I'd say these are as good as any other I have used. You tend to ride more enthusiastically on the road because they are so good. Catch 22!! Two Tyres great supplier too.

The perfect tyre for my KTM adventure

Planning some off-road adventures for my YouTube channel @freedom-machines these tyres were a great opinion giving me that even split of On and off road performance.

Wet / Dry Superb Grip

Running the wilds on my triumph bonneville no complaints what do ever… even in the wet/rain the grip is still very good! Off road gravel is amazing ripping the tracks up!

Great handling, terrible longevity

Fitted these to my yamaha super tenere 1200 in South Africa for adventure trips, 70% unmade roads. Great stability off road, fantastic in sand, though not really happy above 140km on tar . Bad point, terrible longevity, got 3500 kilometers on back tire

On a DRZ400SM

Great on/off tire. On dry road it competes with pure street tires (not track tires). It's slippage under full throttle is very predictable , it kind of warns you where it's limit of grip is and finds its grip back again without frightening you. On wet road and over white lines it is acceptable, more stable than a worn Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 that I had before. After about 3.000km on pavement it seems that you cannot wear it quickly with a light motorcycle, maybe after about 10-12 k kms. Off road it bites well enough, even though it is a wide one (150/70/17) , but it slips on very uneven ground (not a dedicated full knobby) of a sandy or soft-packed hill. It's knobs' edges diminish very quick on rocks (not designed for a rocky mountain single track, but I managed to pass it). On gravel roads it just rips and it is more stable than on pavement over 100km/h. Next rear will be 140/80/17, paired with 90/90/21 front.

South African full week Adventure Ride

So I decided to take the KTM 950S on our 2020 Adventure ride. I took it easy in the blacktop to allow the tyres to wear in in and settle a bit. On day two the ride was on with a 160km fast and windy tar section heading into the mountains with hairpin bends and fast long corners. The rear tyre was solidly planted at all speeds and kept up nicely with the 1190R ahead on a more road biased top brand tyre. The front didn't feel as solid and tended to feel slightly loose in the tight sections, they seemed to get better as they warmed up and the day progressed and keep riding harder. We headed onto a forrest dirt road with hard clay, loose gravel, rocky sections and corrugations. For a 50/50 tyre it handled the different surfaces and speeds exceptionally well and behaved like a proper off-road tyre with great stability and traction at all times. The only terrain we didn't experience was mud due to no recent rains. We woke to a very misty, cold and wet morning. Here the tyres nature changed a bit, admittedly the mountain roads did have some diesel due to trucks and water and diesel don't mix well, but we have ridden these same roads in wet fairly fast. As I was riding the 950 without ABS, tractions control and other stupid gadgets I had to feather all my inputs to the accelerator and brakes. The rear didn't misbehave to much and felt well planted even in the twisty' s unless I disrespected the accelerator when it would give me quick warning of a boot about to connect my ass, but the front gave me no confidence in the cold and wet roads, especially under harder braking. All in all a very good tyre on dry tar and dirt. Wet didn't inspire me to awesome feats of bravery. My major concerns is the tyre life, after about 600km the rear tyre middle row of tread was worn far more than expected and the front just started wearing. I have now done just over 1400km of 40% road and 60% off-road. My tyre wont reach 2000km unless i keep riding after what I consider a safe level of tread for on and off-road. This kind a life distance is not acceptable. I know that we are paying for a premium brand and probably have a softer compound to perform better on tar. I have used a slightly lesser brand on and off-road and achieved 3x to 4x the distance and very similar road handling and performance results.
